
The newly inaugurated executive members of the Abia State Town Union Association, Lagos Branch (ASTUA) had been called to promote unity, transformation and development in the

association.Speaking during the inauguration of executives in Lagos, the newly elected President General, Mazi Chuks Nwosu, Ph.D., FCIA, CAAP, said, “I accept this mandate with gratitude and with a clear vision to transform ASTUA Lagos Branch into a beacon of excellence, unity, and

development. Together, we will unite the community of Abians in Lagos, fostering inclusivity by bringing together sons and daughters from diverse backgrounds, ages, and professions”.According to him, we will celebrate our cultural heritage, strengthen our sense of belonging, and build bridges between our members here and those in the diaspora.
“Through diaspora engagement, we will harness skills, knowledge, and resources from across the globe to drive community development and promote a shared purpose”.Continuing, Dr. Nwosu said, “Our mission will not stop at unity; it will extend to empowerment and progress. We will invest in our youth—the leaders and innovators of tomorrow, by creating mentorship programmes, entrepreneurship bootcamps, leadership workshops, and career guidance initiatives. By equipping them with tools and opportunities, we will ensure that Abia’s next generation is prepared to lead with courage and vision”.“We will enhance welfare through social support programmes, healthcare services, and advocacy. We will collaborate with healthcare providers, financial institutions, and social service organizations to ensure that no member is left behind. In education, we will provide support systems for our children, from scholarships to partnerships with schools, ensuring access to quality education and academic success.We will promote economic growth by collaborating with stakeholders to drive investments, create jobs, and improve the financial well-being of our members. We will preserve and celebrate Abia’s rich cultural heritage while embracing diversity and modernity. We will strengthen partnerships with government, the private sector, and community organizations, ensuring ASTUA’s visibility and relevance in Lagos and beyond”.“My vision is clear: to unite, to empower, and to drive progress.
