The Enugu State Ministry of Health on Monday, felicitated Gov. Peter Mbah on his 54th birthday, while commending his infrastructure strides in the state’s health sector.
The Commissioner for Health, Prof. George Ugwu, felicitated the governor in a congratulatory message made available to newsmen in Enugu.
Ugwu said that the health sector and indeed the entire beneficiaries of the state’s projects, were thankful to God for the gift of Mbah, as well as his vision, commitment and investment in the health sector.
According to him, the governor’s initiative in simultaneously building a primary, secondary, tertiary and international quaternary hospitals, was indeed exceptional and commendable.
He noted that some of these infrastructure included among others, significant upgrades at the Enugu State University Teaching Hospital (ESUTH) and another teaching hospital at the State University of Medical and Applied Sciences (SUMASTH
Ugwu said that Mbah’s administration had implemented a digital record systems in most of the health facilities, including comprehensive laboratory services, and 24/7 security/perimeter fencing at hospitals and harmonious health professionals relationship to combat brain drain.
“On behalf of the Ministry and the health sector, we wish you a wonderful and fulfilling 54 years birthday.
“We pray that the good Lord grant you many more beautiful years ahead in good health, and abundant grace as you have taken care of health of Enugu State people.
“May the Almighty always illuminate your path; as indeed it is a new dawn for us in Enugu State; Happy birthday Your Excellency,” he said.
