The Police Command in Katsina State, has stressed the need for the residents to promptly report suspicious criminal activities for a timely intervention.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Aliyu Abubakar, made the call in a statement on Thursday in Katsina.
“The command urges members of the public to, at all times, promptly report suspicious activities to aid timely security interventions. We are enhancing security presence and community policing to build trust and deter crime,” he said.
Aliyu added that, as part of efforts to curb criminal activities and ensure public safety, the command is prioritising community engagement, intelligence gathering and strategic deployment of personnel and resources.
He urged the public to utilise the following emergency numbers to report suspicious activities and support security efforts: 08156977777, 070727225393 and 09022209690.
According to him, the Commissioner of Police, Ali Umar Fage, emphasised collaboration with traditional leaders, members of the communities, and youth organisations to improve the generation of actionable intelligence and prevent attacks on individuals and communities across the state.
That, he said, was sequel to the directives of the Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Disu, to rejig security architecture and improve security measures across commands.
