The maiden edition of the Integrated Health, Wellness & Education Conference is set to take place on May 21, 2026, at the prestigious Radisson Blu Anchorage Hotel, bringing together eminent stakeholders across healthcare, education, pharmaceuticals, and wellness sectors in a landmark gathering aimed at driving national development through cross-sector collaboration.
The conference is an initiative of Global Affairs Magazine, conceived as a pioneering platform to foster meaningful dialogue between three critical pillars of society — health, wellness, and education — all of which play a central role in shaping human development, productivity, and national progress.
With the theme “Bridging Health, Wellness and Education for Sustainable National Well-being,” and the guiding tagline “Where Pharma Innovation, Wellness Practice, and Education Leadership Meet,” the event seeks to confront pressing societal challenges including academic pressure among students, rising cases of mental health concerns, health misinformation, and lifestyle-related risks affecting young people and communities at large.
The conference is designed to strengthen collaboration among pharmaceutical companies, wellness practitioners, and educational institutions in order to build more informed, healthier, and resilient societies. It also aims to position health-related careers as vital pathways for national development, while addressing the growing shortage of healthcare professionals driven by migration and brain drain.
A distinguished lineup of speakers and guests will headline the event, including the Chairman of the Occasion, Chief Varkey Verghese, Founder of Jawa Group Nigeria; Guest of Honour, President of Nigeria Academy of Pharmacy, Lere Baale; Keynote Speakers, Hon. Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Hon. Jamiu Tolani Alli-Balogun & Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi; and Special Guest, Njide Ndili, president, Healthcare Federation of Nigeria.
The programme will also feature a special lecture by Dr. Samuel Kayode, MD/CEO of Dayspring Specialist Hospital, alongside interactive mentorship sessions designed to expose secondary school students to diverse and rewarding career opportunities in healthcare, particularly pharmacy and specialized medicine.
Key highlights include an inter-school debate competition among leading secondary schools in Lagos State and a fireside chat session hosted by the Pharmaceutical Association of Nigeria Students (PANS UNILAG), featuring top pharmaceutical executives discussing ethics, patient safety, product integrity, and public trust in healthcare delivery.
The Integrated Health, Wellness & Education Conference is expected to serve as a transformative platform for inspiring future leaders, strengthening healthcare awareness, and advancing sustainable national development through strategic collaboration across key sectors.
