In a bid to promote talents and skills among young Nigerians for self-reliance, Twin Concepts, an organisation that passionately supports youth empowerment has concluded Season 6 of Jungle Search Africa Edition (The Jungle Epic Edition), where Innocent Orok, a participant from Cross River state was crowned the winner. The youth programme which took place in Cross River state featured 25 youths for 21 days intensive training in the jungle to discover and harness their talents for job creation and personal development.Expressing his experience at a media chat about the programme, Innocent Orok said, “it was a defining moment in my life and career, being announced as the winner and it is both an honour and responsibility that I carry with deep gratitude. This journey has been more than a competition, it has been more of growth, resilience and belief. I sincerely want to thank my fellow contestants for the friendship, inspiration and the healthy rivalries that we spent that shaped this experience. I am grateful to the organisers of this competition and the crew members during the competition for giving young Nigerians the opportunity to showcase their talents and skills.According to Orok, “We spent 21 days in the jungle. I saw it as an opportunity to learn, excel, and as well a platform to give back to the youths in the society. As the winner of the show, I want to seize this opportunity to enhance youth creativity in the industry and to tell Nigerian and African stories with authenticity, relevance and global recognition.Continuing he said, “there were one or two challenges, like staying together with young people from different backgrounds and understanding, and you were to study everyone to understand their character before you can flow with them.“In all, one important thing for me after this competition is that I want to see how I can use this platform to push and involve more youths into the creative industry. Among other things I learnt from the training are resilience and gratitude because so many things we take for granted are really very important. For instance, most people don’t know the value of water but when they are placed in an environment where they don’t have sufficient water, they tend to be grateful for the little that they have.“I won N10m worth of prizes, an acting deal and becoming an ambassador to the organisers of the competition”.In addition, Camp Director, Dr Victory Emuejekarohwo, praised all the contestants saying, “My message to all the contestants is that whatever they have learnt during the competition, they should key into it. I believe that the winner has a lot of potential in him and the contestants were so happy about the competition and they were engaged meaningfully in other things during the competition”.
