Emerging performers take the spotlight as Bigi and Fearless Energy Drink bring music, live performances and youthful excitement to the university.
From aspiring musicians taking their first steps into the spotlight to established artistes setting the stage alight, Kwara State University (KWASU) became a meeting point for music, talent and youthful expression as Soundcity OnTour brought its 2026 campus experience to the university on October 31.
A major highlight of the event was the Bigi Music Competition, which provided a platform for aspiring campus performers to showcase their musical abilities and compete for recognition. At the end of the contest, Adegbenro Abdulateef, popularly known as Yomide, emerged as the winner, while Ige Samuel Oluwadamilare, known as Voice Boy, finished as first runner-up. Amuda Abdulazeem, who performs as Hazzi The Hollow, secured the second runner-up position.
Their performances brought attention to the musical creativity within the university community, giving the emerging artistes an opportunity to share their talents and experience the excitement of performing before a wider audience.
The entertainment continued with performances from Kinglex, Kodee, Slimcase, Marrz and Muyeez, whose appearances added star power to the evening and kept the campus audience engaged. The blend of emerging talent and established performers gave students an opportunity to enjoy live music while celebrating the diversity of sounds and creativity within Nigeria’s entertainment scene.
Powered by Bigi and Fearless Energy Drink, Soundcity OnTour continues to take music and entertainment to university communities across the country, creating experiences that bring students together and provide opportunities for young people to express themselves through their interests and talents.
For Bigi, the music competition reflects its commitment to connecting with young Nigerians through entertainment and creating opportunities for emerging voices to be discovered. Fearless Energy Drink complements the experience with its bold and energetic identity, connecting with young people through music, ambition and self-expression.
Beyond the performances and competition, the KWASU experience highlighted the role of campus entertainment in providing visibility for young creatives and creating shared experiences within university communities. For Yomide, Voice Boy and Hazzi The Hollow, the evening offered an opportunity to take their musical ambitions beyond the campus stage and into a wider spotlight.
As Soundcity OnTour continues its nationwide journey, more university communities will have the opportunity to experience the music, entertainment and talent discovery that define the tour.
