Unilever Nigeria has reaffirmed its commitment to community development, with the renovation of Local Government Primary School, Elero Igbesa, in Ogun State, in partnership with GEP.
The company upgraded classroom blocks, improved sanitation facilities with modern toilets, and installed solar panels to provide sustainable energy. The classrooms were also furnished and properly ventilated to create a brighter and more conducive learning environment for pupils.

Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, welcomed the intervention, noting that it aligns with the state’s school infrastructure renewal agenda. He urged other corporate organisations to emulate Unilever’s example.
Unilever Nigeria’s Managing Director, Tobi Adeniyi, said the project reflects the company’s commitment to inclusive and equitable quality education, as well as the Ogun State Education Revitalisation Agenda.
“Every child has a right to quality education. Beyond the four walls of the classroom, we must provide an enabling environment that helps children concentrate, learn, and dream. This project is part of our sustainability agenda to improve lives and empower future generations,” he said.
Adeniyi added that upgrading sanitation facilities, installing solar panels, and improving classroom ventilation would enhance pupils’ attendance, concentration, and academic performance.
The traditional ruler of Igbesaland, the Oloja-Ekun, Oba Abdul-Azeez Akinde, commended the company, saying the project has strengthened hope and pride within the community by creating a safer and more conducive learning environment.
